Steering wheel button control adapter for Ford ACV SWC 42XFO005-0

Maintain the original steering wheel radio control functions when replacing the factory radio with an aftermarket unit. Depending on the vehicle's equipment, the range of functions and the software of the newly installed head unit, some functions may be limited or replaced by others. Compare the displayed wiring connectors with the connectors in your vehicle and ensure they match both technically and visually. Check whether any of the listed OEM head units were originally installed. Before final assembly, verify vehicle functionality, system settings and correct operation of the steering wheel controls.

Intended for vehicles

  • Ford Fiesta [JA8] (06/2010 -> 09/2012) - vehicles with the OK button on the steering wheel and with a red OEM display. Vehicles with only the M button without the OK button are not compatible. Vehicles with a small display and two adjustment buttons on the right do not support date setting.

CAN Bus information

  • Connector: 24-pin Ford.
  • Output for OEM steering wheel control: 3.5 mm jack or free wire.
  • AMP monitor connector > connection to OEM monitor.
  • OEM monitor connector > connection to the interface.
  • Vehicle settings supported.

Provided signals

  • Red: +12 V ignition, terminal 15.
  • Orange: +12 V illumination, terminal 58.
  • Violet/white: +12 V reverse signal.
  • Pink: speed pulse.
  • Green: GND parking brake signal.
  • Maximum output load: 250 mA. For current draw higher than 250 mA use a relay with coil resistance of at least 75 Ohm (1 relay) or 150 Ohm (2 relays).

Important additional information

  • Intended for vehicles with the OEM Visteon head unit, with the OK button on the steering wheel and with a red OEM display.
  • Vehicles with only the M button without the OK button are not compatible.
  • To fully activate the adapter it is necessary to order the connection cable specific to the brand of the head unit.

General installation instructions

Pre-installation checks:

  1. Check all steering wheel control functions and vehicle settings with the original OEM head unit.
  2. Remove the original radio without power applied.
  3. Check all interface connections to ensure they are correctly connected – with no power applied.

Connections and wiring sequence:

  1. Perform the interface settings and hardware configuration with no power applied.
  2. Check the configuration of the connection cable to the head unit (HU).
  3. Connect the cable to the HU according to the aftermarket device manual.
  4. Connect the other wires according to the device manual.
  5. Connect the entire installation to the vehicle – connect the main power last.
  6. Perform the software configuration of the interface according to the product description or manual.
  7. Configure the aftermarket HU (steering wheel control, camera, handsfree, antenna power, etc.).
  8. Perform a functional test of the steering wheel controls and communication with the vehicle.

Changing the interface configuration and HU cable:

  • Make all changes with no power applied.
  • After changes, repeat steps 5 to 8 listed above.

In case of interface or vehicle system failure:

  • Reinstall the original OEM head unit.
  • Start the original unit.
  • Wait for the CAN Bus system to go to sleep.
  • Check the hardware configuration of the interface.
  • After CAN Bus sleep, repeat steps 5 to 8 listed above.

When modifying wiring or cable routing:

  • Wiring and modifications may only be performed by professionally trained personnel.
  • All changes must be verified for manufacturer approval or impact on the vehicle warranty before connection.
  • All modifications must be verified by measurement and compared with the vehicle wiring diagram before connection.
  • Modifications are performed at your own risk, without guarantee of functionality.
