Steering wheel button control adapter for Fiat / Opel / Suzuki ACV SWC 42XSZ001

Preserve the original steering wheel radio control functions when replacing the factory radio with an aftermarket unit. Depending on the vehicle equipment, range of functions and software of the newly installed head unit, some functions may be limited or replaced by others. Compare the displayed wiring connectors with the connectors in your vehicle and make sure they match both technically and visually. Check whether one of the listed OEM head units was originally installed. Before final installation, verify vehicle functionality, system settings and correct operation of the steering wheel control (SWC).

CAN Bus information

Connectors and power:

• Connectors: 20-pin Suzuki.
• OEM steering wheel control connection: 3.5 mm jack or free wire to the SWC input of the head unit.

Settings:

• Set DIP switches according to the aftermarket unit manufacturer (see BDA).

Vehicle compatibility:

• Vehicles with Siemens/VDO PACR 01, PACR 02, PACR 06, SUKNR301 OEM head units.
• Vehicles with Panasonic OEM Sat Nav.
• Vehicles without Siemens/VDO PACR 05, PACR 07, PACR 08 OEM head units.

Special cases and warnings:

• Reimported vehicles or vehicles with different software may have limited functionality.
• Speed signal (Speed Pulse) available if assigned – pink wire.

Important additional information

• Compatible with aftermarket head units that have an analog input for steering wheel control.
• To fully activate the adapter, it is necessary to order a connection cable for the specific brand of head unit.

General installation instructions

Verification before installation:

1. Check all steering wheel control functions and vehicle settings with the original OEM head unit.
2. Disconnect the original radio (OEM HU) with the power off.
3. Check all interface connections to ensure they are correctly connected – with power off.

Connection and wiring order:

1. Set and check the hardware configuration of the interface – with power off.
2. Check the configuration of the connection cable to the head unit – with power off.
3. Connect the cable to the head unit according to the aftermarket device manual.
4. Connect the remaining wires according to the device manual.
5. Connect the entire installation to the vehicle – connect the main power connection last.
6. Perform software configuration of the interface according to the product description or manual.
7. Configure the aftermarket head unit (steering wheel controls, camera, handsfree, antenna power, etc.).
8. Perform a functional test of the steering wheel controls and communication with the vehicle.

Changing the interface configuration and head unit cable:

• Make all changes with the power off.
• After changes, repeat steps 5 to 8 listed above.

In case of interface or vehicle system malfunction:

• Reinstall the original OEM head unit.
• Start the original unit.
• Invoke CAN Bus system shutdown.
• Check the hardware configuration of the interface.
• After CAN Bus shutdown, repeat steps 5 and 6 listed above.

When modifying wiring or cable routing:

• Wiring and modifications may only be carried out by professionally trained personnel.
• All changes must be verified before connection with regard to manufacturer approval or impact on the vehicle warranty.
• All modifications must be verified before connection by measurement and comparison with the vehicle wiring diagram.
