Skoda Kodiaq - new sound system (replacement of Canton factory system)

New audio system for a Škoda Kodiaq that originally came with the optional Canton system. That system will satisfy an average user, but a more demanding listener will not be impressed and may be disappointed. Our client wanted a clear improvement in sound quality and more power for undisturbed listening without unpleasant distortion at the highest volumes and to simultaneously add dynamics to the sound with a more powerful subwoofer. When comparing sound on our demo panel, the owner of this blue Kodiaq favored, within the given budget, component speakers from the Italian maker Audison. They offer high power of 115 W RMS and, at a price of around CZK 4,500, surprisingly good sound. Although Audison speakers traditionally have very high sensitivity, to maximize their potential we installed a Mosconi four-channel amplifier, which also delivers the necessary power to the compact subwoofer from the same maker. We also damped the doors with the premium anti-vibration material Comfortmat Dark D2, which provides an unrivaled efficiency-to-weight ratio and doesn’t overload the large Kodiaq doors. Because this installation was budget-limited, we had to opt for only a four-channel amplifier bought on sale. Therefore the rear speakers are connected only to the head unit, which—thanks to their high sensitivity—does not present a major issue.
