Noise-absorbing material SGM BB-Tone 8
SGM BB-Tone is a noise-absorbing material made from an elastic material in the form of re-foamed polyurethane foam with polymer impregnation and a self-adhesive layer. On the mounting side the material is protected by siliconeized paper. The material’s greatest advantage is the high ability to absorb airborne noise inside the vehicle and resistance to significant changes in temperature and humidity. The structure of the polyurethane foam with secondary foaming is characterized by the presence of open pores and relatively large cavities between flakes, so there is almost no sound reflection. Sound waves are absorbed by the cellular structure of the material. The specially selected structure of the crosslinking composition and the polymer impregnation of the material are a unique development by SGM and provide the maximum possible sound absorption characteristics. BB-Tone is also an extremely lightweight material weighing only 0.4 Kg / 1 m², which can be used for installations where the main task is not to add too much weight to the vehicle while still effectively soundproofing it. The material is highly flexible and can be applied to very contoured surfaces. The extremely adhesive self-adhesive layer guarantees effectiveness at -40 °C to +120 °C. The material meets automotive fire safety standards; the burn rate is less than 100 mm per minute. Available in thicknesses of 4 and 8 mm. Please note that the final color of the material may differ from the photograph, depending on the current source of raw materials used in production.

Where to apply SGM BB-Tone 8
SGM BB-Tone is intended for soundproofing practically all areas of the vehicle. Due to its extremely low weight its use is especially suitable for installations where you do not want to significantly increase the vehicle weight. It is applied as a second layer over anti-vibration material, which prevents vibrations and the lowest frequency noise (e.g. SGM Beta 2 or SGM Alpha 2).
