Polishing Pad Koch Chemie Heavy Cut Foam Pad (45 x 25 mm)
An abrasive polishing pad designed for polishing heavily weathered paintwork and removing deep scratches using Koch Chemie Heavy Cut H9.02 polishing compound. Its low profile of just 25 mm reduces torsional forces, ensuring excellent handling and maximum stability. The specially formulated foam density provides long-lasting firmness under compression during polishing. The milled edge increases the pad's flexibility, allowing it to adapt more easily to body panel contours and angles. The polishing pad is color-coded to match the corresponding polishing compound, making it easier to select the correct product.

How to care for polishing pads
- Proper care of polishing pads is essential for maintaining their long service life and polishing performance.
- During polishing, the pad's temperature is particularly important, as it can reach very high temperatures when polishing paintwork.
- Prolonged polishing and frequent overheating can significantly shorten the pad's lifespan.
- Monitor the temperature regularly and allow the pad to cool down if it becomes overheated.
- Excessive heat can damage both the foam and the adhesive used in the pad.
- Polishing pads should be cleaned frequently during the polishing process; otherwise, their effectiveness will decrease, making paint correction less efficient.
- As soon as the polishing pad becomes clogged with polishing compound, it should be cleaned.
- You can use a medium-soft brush (e.g., Poka Premium Brush for Details and Pad Cleaning - Hard Blue). Set the polisher to a low speed, hold it away from the vehicle, and use the brush to remove the old polishing compound from the rotating pad.
- Simply hold the brush against the pad while the polisher rotates. Be careful not to scatter used polishing compound onto the freshly polished paintwork.
- If you have an air compressor, you can also use compressed air to blow out the pad while the polisher is running, following the same procedure.
- After completing the machine polishing process, the pad should be thoroughly cleaned to ensure it is ready for future use.
- We recommend machine washing the polishing pad at 40 °C (104 °F) using a detergent specifically designed for microfiber. We recommend the high-quality Gyeon Q²M TowelWash, which delivers excellent results.
- Never wash polishing pads together with towels or microfiber cloths!
- Do not tumble dry polishing pads after washing. Allow them to air dry naturally by placing them polishing-side down on a drying towel.
- If a washing machine is unavailable, the pads can also be washed by hand using an all-purpose cleaner (APC), such as Gyeon Q²M APC, diluted at a ratio of 1:6.
- Store polishing pads in a dry place away from direct sunlight, ideally in a clean, sealed plastic container.
