How to Care for Polishing Pads

Caring for polishing pads is crucial for their long lifespan and future polishing abilities.
The temperature of the pad during use is very important for its longevity, as it can heat up to high temperatures during polishing.
If you polish for a long period and frequently overheat the pad, you significantly shorten its lifespan.
Monitor the temperature, and if the pad is overheated, allow it to cool down.
Both the foam and the adhesive suffer at high temperatures.
It is essential to frequently clean the polishing pad during the polishing process, otherwise, it will stop working effectively.
Once the pad is clogged with polishing paste, it's necessary to address it.
You can use a medium-soft brush and set the polisher to low speed to brush away the old paste. Just hold the brush in your hand and let the polisher rotate the pad.
Be careful not to throw used paste onto the polished paint of the car during rotary cleaning.
If you own an air compressor, you can use it to blow out the pad while the polisher is on.
After successful machine polishing, prepare the pad for future use.
We recommend washing the polishing pad in a washing machine at 40 °C with a detergent designed for microfiber.
Never wash pads together with towels or cloths!
Do not put pads in a dryer; let them dry naturally on a drying towel with the polishing side down.
If you don't have a washing machine, you can wash the pads by hand with an APC cleaner, diluted at a 1:6 ratio.
Polishing pads should be stored in a dry place away from direct sunlight, ideally in a sealed clean plastic box.
