Integrating car hi‑fi components into existing OEM audio systems with an external amplifier is becoming increasingly challenging due to the lack of preamp outputs or the inclusion of speaker diagnostic functions. That’s where the new Helix AAC.3 comes in. Forget error messages or loss of functions (e.g. fader). The integrated ADEP.3P circuit smartly “bypasses” speaker diagnostics in factory head units. It also prevents distorted sound and increased THD that can occur with conventional converters. In addition, it does not unnecessarily load the head unit amplifier and can reduce its current draw by up to 70%.

Intelligent signal detection

The “Double Activation Circuit” generates a +12 V remote turn‑on signal to activate connected aftermarket power amplifiers in two different ways. It either detects the DC offset on the speaker outputs of the OE amplifier or uses an integrated, switchable signal detection with variable sensitivity. Additionally, the AAC.3 HP features Audiotec Fischer’s own “Power Save Mode,” which switches off the remote output if no music signal is present for more than 2 minutes. This is a real advantage, because many cars with “CAN” or similar bus architectures keep the audio system invisibly “alive” for up to 15 minutes after you have left the vehicle.

Ready for high resolution

The AAC.3 HP generates a high‑quality preamp signal from the speaker output of the factory amplifier, enabling easy connection of additional power amplifiers. Its wide frequency response of 18 Hz to 80,000 Hz ensures excellent sound quality and makes this high‑resolution converter ready to reproduce high‑resolution audio. For OEM audio systems without a factory‑installed amplifier we recommend using the AAC.3. This is specifically developed for direct connection to the speaker outputs of the factory radio.
