JL Audio LoC-22 High/Low Converter
Fully active two-channel converter from speaker-level to line-level outputs with automatic turn-on. The LoC-22, designed by JL Audio Sr. Engineer Bruce MacMillan, is an active two-channel processor for applications requiring attenuation of factory audio signals for use with aftermarket amplifiers and signal processors. The LoC-22 uses a fully regulated switched MOSFET power supply and a fully analog circuit design to provide flat frequency response at any signal level (3 Hz – 32 kHz, +0, -1 dB) without altering bass response at high levels, as is common with passive line-output converters. The LoC-22 is designed to suppress induced cable noise and features a differential balanced input architecture, making it compatible with virtually any analog audio signal. The LoC-22 can accept up to 40 V RMS per channel (equivalent to 400 W @ 4 ohms) and easily handles the most powerful factory amp outputs. The integrated dual-range input load switch allows compatibility with most factory amplifiers that use impedance sensing to attenuate channels. The LoC-22 is equipped with a pair of analog RCA line output jacks (up to 8V RMS) for feeding audio signals into your aftermarket system. The analog outputs are compatible with most types of aftermarket signal processors or amplifiers. Output level adjustment is super simple thanks to a specially calibrated integrated clipping indicator that works with test tones or music. The LoC-22 offers two automatic turn-on methods (DC-Offset Sensing or Signal Sensing) and provides a positive 12V turn-on output to activate aftermarket amplifiers or other downstream electronics.
