Carbon Collective HEX Polishing Pad is a technologically advanced solution for machine polishing that significantly eases the work of professional detailers and enthusiastic amateurs. This pad uses a special German foam identical to that used in larger variants, ensuring consistent cutting and polishing performance across different polisher sizes. The key feature is the H.E.X. pattern on the foam surface. This profiled surface helps retain polish on the working face, prevents premature run-off or sling-off and significantly reduces friction. That minimises heat build-up on the polished surface, extending the time the polish remains workable and preventing heat-related paint damage.

The pad’s construction is optimised for efficient power transfer from the polisher to the paint. The reduced 15 mm profile is ideal for orbital (dual action) polishers because it minimises energy loss and prevents unwanted slowdown or stalling of the backing plate under pressure—a frequent issue with battery machines. The pad features a conical (wedge) shape where the polishing surface diameter expands from a narrower base to a wider working face. This provides greater coverage while maintaining precise control on a smaller backing plate and increases safety when working near edges and folds. The central hole serves as an effective ventilation channel to remove heat generated by the machine’s eccentric motion from the foam’s interior, extending pad life and preventing delamination due to high temperatures.

The orange Polishing 3 variant is specifically designed for fine polishing tasks, removal of minor imperfections and final surface finishing. It’s ideal for removing light scratches, fine swirls and holograms commonly left after earlier heavy compounding. How to use

• Centre the pad on an 80 mm backing plate and press it firmly into place.
• Apply an appropriate amount of polish, glaze or sealant directly to the pad’s working surface.
• Work with an eccentric (dual action) polisher; the pad’s low profile optimises its performance.
• Keep the pad flat against the surface and let the hexagonal structure aid cooling.
• After finishing, rinse the pad in warm water, use a pad cleaner, rinse in clean water and allow to air dry.
• This will prolong the life of the German foam and velour hook-and-loop backing.
