Blaupunkt Funline AM/ FM/ DAB/ DAB+
The Blaupunkt Funline AM/FM/DAB/DAB+ is an active antenna designed to be mounted on the inner surface of a vehicle’s windshield or other suitable glass. In a single solution it provides AM, FM and digital DAB/DAB+ reception and, thanks to its integrated antenna amplifier, offers good reception without the need to drill into the bodywork. A distinctive feature of the antenna is a blue illuminated ring that indicates the amplifier is active and can be switched off if needed. The antenna is intended for non-heated and non-metalized glass.
Active antenna with integrated amplifier
The Blaupunkt Funline has its own antenna amplifier for both FM and DAB bands. For FM the manufacturer specifies a gain of +6 dB and for DAB even +18 dB, which helps ensure more stable radio reception. Proper operation requires a separate power supply in the range of 9 to 16 V and its current consumption is less than 80 mA.
AM, FM and DAB/DAB+
The antenna supports all common radio standards used in cars. AM operates in the range 0.15–6.2 MHz, FM in 76–108 MHz and DAB/DAB+ in 174–240 MHz. Connections are provided via a DIN connector for AM/FM and an SMB connector for DAB/DAB+. This allows both signals to be connected to the corresponding inputs of the car radio.
Installation without drilling
A major advantage of the antenna is the simple installation by sticking it to the glass. There is no need to drill a hole in the roof or other body parts. Because the antenna is mounted inside the vehicle, it is protected against weather and theft. The manufacturer warns that the antenna is intended for non-heated and non-metalized glass, since heating wires or metalized layers can negatively affect signal reception.
Blue LED backlight
The integrated amplification module contains a blue glowing ring that indicates the antenna amplifier is active. The illumination is designed to be non-dazzling and can be turned off separately.
