Blaupunkt Freiburg 260
The Blaupunkt Freiburg 260 is a modern 1DIN car radio from the PRO-LINE series that combines Blaupunkt’s classic design with a high-quality analog tuner, Bluetooth connectivity and simple operation. It offers an FM/AM tuner, Bluetooth 5, USB-A, front AUX input, handsfree calling, a steering wheel control input and a short mounting depth.
Unlike the Kiel 260 model, the Freiburg 260 does not include a DAB+ tuner. It is therefore suitable for users who want a traditional car radio with excellent FM reception and modern wireless connectivity without unnecessary extra features.
High-grade FM/AM tuner
The Blaupunkt Freiburg 260 uses a high-grade tuner for FM and AM that supports RDS, Alternative Frequencies (AF), regional REG function, automatic station storage (Travelstore) and Traffic Announcement priority (TA). The tuner can be switched between settings for Europe, Asia, USA, South America, Thailand and Japan. There are 15 FM presets and 10 AM presets, plus a two-stage FM sensitivity setting and a Hi-Cut function to suppress interference.
Bluetooth 5 for handsfree and music
Built-in Bluetooth 5 enables handsfree calling and wireless music streaming. The radio supports A2DP, AVRCP, HFP and SPP profiles and uses the SBC codec. The unit remembers the last 5 paired devices, with one phone able to be connected at a time. It also supports access to a phonebook of up to 1,000 entries and automatic wake-up on incoming calls.
USB-A and AUX on the front panel
The front of the unit features a USB-A connector and a 3.5 mm AUX input. The USB player supports MP3, WMA and WAV formats, FAT16, FAT32 and exFAT file systems and media over 128 GB capacity. Folder and file browsing, ID3 information display and various repeat and shuffle modes are supported. The USB connector can also be used to charge mobile devices.
X-Bass and simple sound settings
The Blaupunkt Freiburg 260 offers bass and treble adjustments, Balance, Fader, an X-Bass function and sound presets Pop, Rock and Classical. However, it does not include a separate multi-band equalizer or DSP processor. The integrated amplifier delivers a maximum output of 4 × 50 W, a nominal output of 4 × 24 W at 14.4 V and supports speakers with a minimum impedance of 4 Ω. A 2-channel RCA preamp output with a level under 2 V is provided for an external amplifier.
Steering wheel control input
The Freiburg 260 features a programmable SWC input for steering wheel control. Preconfigured control for Blaupunkt RC-24 and RC-26 is supported, as well as freely programmable analog control.
Short mounting depth
The radio body has a depth of only 120 mm, which greatly simplifies installation in vehicles with limited space behind the dashboard. The radio body dimensions are 50 × 178 × 120 mm.

Most car radios for 2017 and later can also wirelessly stream (play) music via Bluetooth -> A2DP function. | Yes |
| USB inputThe USB input of the car radio is used to connect a USB flash drive or smartphone. Today, playing music via USB is the most popular way to listen to music in the car. The USB input can be front (on the front panel of the car radio) or rear (on the back of the cable). | Yes |

You click on the Apple CarPlay icon on the car radio screen and application icons appear on the car radio screen like on a smartphone, and you can continue to control everything using the car radio. It also works with voice control and Siri. | No |
| Android AutoGoogle's Android Auto is a completely new option for connecting a smartphone to a car radio that has the Android Auto function. The connection is only by cable, thanks to the high data flow. The Android OS requirement is at least version 5.0. | Car radio performanceThe performance of the car radio shown in maximum values. This is therefore the MAX value. The performance of the internal amplifier of the car radio. Today, the RMS power of a car radio ranges from 17 - 30 W RMS per channel. | 4 x 50 W |
| Number of RCA outputsRCA outputs , colloquially called "cinches", are used to connect an external amplifier or active subwoofer. Aftermarket car radios are usually equipped with 1 to 3 pairs of RCA outputs. FRONT, REAR and SUB are used. It also depends on how many volt outputs the car radio is equipped with. More basic models of car radios have 2V outputs, more expensive units have 4V and more. The higher the specified value, the less power demands are placed on the external amplifier and the sound quality increases. | 1 pair |
| Input for steering wheel button control adapterCar radios equipped with a cable input or a 3.5 Jack socket for an adapter to control the buttons on the steering wheel. Most branded car radios have this input, from the back of the car radio body. | Yes |
| External microphone included in the packageThe external microphone is connected from the back of the car radio to the input marked "MIC". For ideal sound quality during a phone call, we recommend placing the external microphone on the left "A" pillar at the point where the "A" pillar and the roof panel connect to each other. A very good position to place an external microphone is also near the central rear-view mirror. | Yes |
| Remote control includedCard IR remote control of the car radio, thanks to which certain functions of the car radio incl. control the volume from the hand, remotely. | No |
| Removable front panelPossibility to remove the entire front panel of the car radio by pressing the side button. A very effective weapon against car radio theft. We recommend not hiding the panel in the vehicle, but taking it with you. Alternatively, place the panel in a hidden place in the trunk, but not when leaving the car, but before parking. You never know when a thief might be watching you. | No |
