An antenna splitter is used to install a car radio with two antenna inputs and then connect a car antenna, but there is only one antenna in the car. Antenna splitters with amplifiers are also often used. An antenna splitter can be used, for example, to use a VHF antenna to receive AM and FM signals for car radios when using a VHF antenna. They are suitable for cars where the original car antenna has been replaced with a VHF antenna.
