Zapco Z-OTG-BT C audio converter
The Z-OTG-BT C is a universal audio converter and digital interface designed for modern audio installations where the primary signal source is a mobile phone, tablet or other digital device. It is not a standard Bluetooth module, but a full‑featured input device that allows a high‑quality digital signal to be brought into an audio system without the need to use a car head unit. The device is suitable for installations focused on sound quality, show car projects and modern systems without a head unit, where emphasis is placed on a clean signal, flexible connections and maximum control over the audio source.
A key feature is the USB OTG input, which enables direct digital connection of a phone via USB‑C. The signal is transmitted without lossy compression and without D/A conversion in the phone, allowing significantly higher sound quality compared to classic Bluetooth connection. The device also supports simultaneous charging of the connected phone, which is essential for practical use in a car.
The unit also includes a Bluetooth module with a Qualcomm Bluetooth 5.2 chip that supports aptX, aptX HD and aptX Adaptive codecs. Bluetooth thus serves as a convenient wireless alternative, for example for quick connections or regular listening, while USB OTG remains the preferred choice for maximum audio quality.
The Z-OTG-BT C is equipped with digital outputs in the form of optical and coaxial interfaces, allowing it to be used as a pure digital transport for DSP processors or external D/A converters. For systems without DSP, analog RCA outputs are also available, implemented using the proven Texas Instruments PCM5102A DAC and JRC5532 operational amplifier.
