Steering wheel button control adapter for Toyota ACV SWC 42XTY019-0

Retain the original steering wheel radio control functions when replacing the factory radio with an aftermarket unit. Depending on vehicle equipment, available functions and the software of the newly installed radio, some functions may be limited or replaced by others. Compare the shown wiring connectors with the connectors in your vehicle and make sure they match both technically and visually. Check whether one of the listed OEM head units was originally installed. Before final installation, verify vehicle functionality, system settings and correct operation of the steering wheel control (SWC).

• Toyota Landcruiser (J15) (10/2013 -> 12/2017) - original OEM head unit.
• Toyota Landcruiser (J15) (01/2018 -> 07/2019) - original OEM head unit.
• Toyota RAV4 (XA3/XA4) (01/2016 -> 12/2018) - original OEM head unit.

CAN Bus information

Connectors and power:

• Connectors: 10‑pin / 6‑pin / 28‑pin / 24‑pin Toyota.
• OEM steering wheel control connection: 3.5 mm jack or spare wire to the radio SWC input.
• OEM antenna connection: DIN (male).
• OEM AUX connection: RCA (red/white).
• OEM 360° camera system connection: RCA (yellow) camera input.
• Blue wire: +12 V antenna power (remote).

Configuration:

• DIP switch settings according to the aftermarket unit manufacturer (see BDA / radio manual).

Vehicle compatibility:

• Analog steering wheel control (SWC).
• OEM amplified audio system supported.
• OEM 360° camera system supported.
• Fader function is not supported.
• System language can be changed only with the OEM radio installed.

Special cases and warnings:

• Reimported vehicles or vehicles with different software may have limited functionality.

Important additional information

• Compatible with aftermarket head units that have analog or CAN Bus steering wheel control input.
• A patch lead for the specific radio brand must be ordered to fully activate the adapter.

General installation instructions

Pre-installation checks:

1. Check all control functions and vehicle settings with the original OEM head unit installed.
2. Disconnect the original radio (OEM head unit, HU) with power off.
3. Check all interface connections to ensure they are correctly connected – with power off.

Connections and wiring sequence:

1. Set and check the hardware configuration of the interface – with power off.
2. Check the wiring configuration of the cable to the HU – with power off.
3. Connect the cable to the HU according to the aftermarket device instructions.
4. Connect the remaining wires according to the device manual.
5. Connect the entire installation to the vehicle – connect the main power lead last.
6. Perform the software configuration of the interface according to the product description or manual.
7. Configure the aftermarket HU (steering wheel control, camera, handsfree, antenna power, etc.).
8. Perform a functional test of the steering wheel controls and vehicle communication.

Changing the interface configuration and HU cable:

• Make all changes with power off.
• After any change, repeat steps 5 to 8 listed above.

In case of interface or vehicle system failure:

• Reinstall the original OEM head unit.
• Start the original unit.
• Initiate CAN Bus shutdown.
• Check the hardware configuration of the interface.
• After CAN Bus shutdown, repeat steps 5 and 6 listed above.

When modifying wiring or cable routing:

• Wiring and modifications must be performed only by professionally trained personnel.
• All changes must be verified for manufacturer approval or impact on the vehicle warranty before connection.
• All modifications must be verified by measurement and compared with the vehicle wiring diagram before connection.
