Retain the original steering wheel radio controls when replacing the factory radio with an aftermarket unit. Depending on the vehicle equipment, range of functions and the software of the newly installed head unit, some functions may be limited or replaced by others. Compare the shown wiring connectors with the connectors in your vehicle and make sure they match both technically and visually. Check whether one of the listed OEM head units was originally installed. Before final installation, verify vehicle functionality, system settings and correct operation of the steering wheel control (SWC).

CAN Bus information
Connectors and power:
- Connectors: 10‑pin / 6‑pin / 28‑pin Toyota.
- OEM steering wheel control connection: 3.5 mm jack or open wire to the SWC input of the head unit.
- OEM antenna connection: DIN (male).
- OEM reverse camera connection: 24‑pin > RCA (yellow) camera input.
- OEM camera adapter connection: 16‑pin > 24‑pin.
- OEM USB connection: USB‑A.
- OEM AUX connection: RCA (red/white).
- Blue wire: +12 V antenna power (remote).
- OEM camera power: +6 V.
Settings:
- Set DIP switches according to the aftermarket head unit manufacturer (see BDA / head unit manual).
Vehicle compatibility:
- Analog steering wheel control (SWC).
- Vehicles with or without OEM reverse camera.
- Vehicles without a 360° OEM camera system.
Special cases and warnings:
- Vehicles with different pin assignments or with OEM navigation: always verify pinout by measuring before connecting to avoid errors or damage.
- Reverse gear +12 V signal alternative: red 4‑core 0.5 mm cable – rear luggage compartment trim (verify by measurement).
- OEM camera +6 V power: verify correct assignment with the OEM head unit before installation.
- Video (+/–): verify correct assignment with the OEM head unit before installation.
- USB and AUX: verify correct assignment with the OEM head unit before installation.
Important additional information
- Compatible with aftermarket head units that have an analog input for steering wheel control.
- To fully activate the adapter, it is necessary to order a patch lead for the specific brand of head unit.
General installation instructions
Pre‑installation checks:
- Check all steering wheel control functions and vehicle settings with the original OEM head unit installed.
- Disconnect the original radio (OEM HU) with the power off.
- Check all interface connections to ensure they are correctly connected – with power off.
Connection and wiring sequence:
- Set and check the hardware configuration of the interface – with power off.
- Check the configuration of the connecting cable to the head unit – with power off.
- Connect the cable to the head unit according to the aftermarket device instructions.
- Connect the remaining wires according to the device instructions.
- Integrate the entire installation with the vehicle – connect the main power last.
- Perform the software configuration of the interface according to the product description or manual.
- Configure the aftermarket head unit (steering wheel control, camera, handsfree, antenna power, etc.).
- Perform a functional test of the steering wheel controls and communication with the vehicle.
Changing interface configuration and HU cable:
- Make all changes with the power off.
- After changes, repeat steps 5 to 8 listed above.
In case of interface or vehicle system failure:
- Reinstall the original OEM head unit.
- Start the original unit.
- Trigger CAN Bus shutdown.
- Check the hardware configuration of the interface.
- After CAN Bus shutdown, repeat steps 5 and 6 listed above.
When modifying wiring or cable routing:
- Wiring and modifications must only be performed by properly trained personnel.
- All changes must be verified prior to connection regarding manufacturer approval or impact on the vehicle warranty.
- All modifications must be verified by measurement and compared with the vehicle wiring diagram before connection.
- Modifications are made at your own risk, without guarantee of functionality.
