Maintain the original steering wheel radio control functions when replacing the factory radio with an aftermarket unit. Depending on the vehicle equipment, feature set and the software of the newly installed radio, some functions may be limited or replaced by others. Compare the displayed harness connectors with those in your vehicle and ensure they match both technically and visually. Check whether any of the listed OEM radios were originally installed. Before final installation, verify vehicle functionality, system settings and proper operation of the steering wheel controls (SWC).

CAN Bus information

Connectors and interfaces:

• Connector: 40-pin Škoda Quadlock.
• OEM steering wheel control connection: 3.5 mm jack or a free wire.

Settings:

• Set DIP switches according to the aftermarket unit manufacturer (see manual).

Vehicle compatibility:

• Vehicles without a Technisat OEM head unit (HU).

Important additional information

• Compatible with aftermarket head units with an analog input for steering wheel control (e.g. Sony, Kenwood, JVC, Pioneer, Alpine, Blaupunkt, Clarion, Zenec, etc.).
• To fully activate the adapter, it is necessary to order a connecting cable for the specific car radio brand.

General installation instructions

Pre-installation checks:

1. Check all vehicle functions and settings with the original OEM head unit installed.
2. Disconnect the original radio (OEM HU) with the power off.
3. Check all interface connections to ensure they are properly connected, with power off.

Connections and wiring sequence:

1. Set and verify the hardware configuration of the interface with power off.
2. Check the configuration of the connection cable to the head unit (HU) with power off.
3. Connect the cable to the head unit according to the aftermarket device manual.
4. Connect the remaining wires according to the device manual.
5. Integrate the entire installation with the vehicle; connect the main power connection last.
6. Perform the software configuration of the interface according to the product description or manual.
7. Configure the aftermarket head unit (steering wheel control, camera, hands-free, antenna power, etc.).
8. Perform a functional test of the steering wheel controls and communication with the vehicle.

Changing interface and head unit cable configuration:

• Make all changes with power off.
• After changes, repeat steps 5 to 8 listed above.

In case of interface or vehicle system malfunction:

• Reinstall the original OEM head unit.
• Start the original unit.
• Initiate CAN Bus system shutdown.
• Check the hardware configuration of the interface.
• After CAN Bus shutdown, repeat steps 5 and 6 listed above.

When modifying wiring or cable routing:

• Wiring and modifications must be carried out only by professionally trained personnel.
• All changes must be verified before connection regarding manufacturer approval or impact on the vehicle warranty.
• All modifications must be verified by measurement and comparison with the vehicle wiring diagram before connection.
