Retain original steering wheel radio controls when replacing the factory radio with an aftermarket head unit. Depending on the vehicle equipment, available functions and the software of the newly installed head unit, some functions may be limited or replaced by others. Compare the shown wiring connectors with the connectors in your vehicle and make sure they match both technically and visually. Check whether one of the listed OEM head units was originally installed. Before final installation verify vehicle operation, system settings and correct operation of the steering wheel control (SWC).

  • Seat Mii (AA) (05/2017 -> 06/2019) - original OEM head unit.
  • Seat Mii (AA) (01/2020 -> 02/2021) - original OEM head unit.
  • Škoda Citigo (AA) (05/2017 -> 06/2019) - original OEM head unit, vehicles with LG Anatel L169SK2 OEM HU.
  • Škoda Citigo iv (AA) (01/2020 -> 08/2021) - original OEM head unit, vehicles with LG Anatel L169SK2 OEM HU.

CAN Bus information

Connectors and power:

  • Connector: 52-pin VAG Quadlock.
  • Connection for OEM steering wheel control: 3.5 mm jack or spare wire.

Configuration:

  • Set DIP switches according to the aftermarket head unit manufacturer (see BDA).

Vehicle compatibility:

  • Supported: Seat, Škoda and Volkswagen vehicles with the MIB-PQ system.
  • Not supported: Seat Mii (AA), Škoda Citigo (iv) (AA), VW UP! (AA) with dash-mounted instrument monitor.

Special cases and warnings:

  • Vehicle settings are not supported.
  • E-Call is not supported. For vehicles with E-Call the adapter 1424-02 is required.
  • For vehicles with an OEM parking camera the adapter 771324-1037 is required.
  • Reimported vehicles or vehicles with different software may have limited functionality.

Important additional information

  • Compatible with aftermarket head units with CAN Bus input.
  • To fully activate the adapter, an interconnection cable for the specific brand of head unit must be ordered.

General installation instructions

Checks before installation:

  1. Check all functions and vehicle settings with the OEM head unit installed.
  2. Disconnect the OEM head unit with power off.
  3. Check all interface connections – with power off.

Connections and wiring sequence:

  1. Set the hardware configuration of the interface – with power off.
  2. Check the configuration of the connection cable to the head unit – with power off.
  3. Connect the cable to the head unit according to the aftermarket unit manual.
  4. Connect the remaining wires according to the device manual.
  5. Connect the entire installation to the vehicle – connect main power last.
  6. Perform software configuration of the interface according to the manual.
  7. Configure the aftermarket head unit (SWC, camera, handsfree, antenna power, etc.).
  8. Verify SWC functionality and overall vehicle system operation.

Changing the configuration:

  • Make all changes with power off.
  • After changes repeat installation steps 5 to 8.

In case of malfunction:

  • Reinstall the OEM head unit.
  • Start the OEM head unit.
  • Invoke CAN Bus shutdown.
  • Check the hardware configuration of the interface.
  • After CAN Bus shutdown repeat installation steps 5 and 6.

When modifying wiring:

  • Wiring and modifications must only be performed by qualified personnel.
  • Changes must be approved by the manufacturer; they may affect the warranty.
  • All modifications must be verified by measurement and compared with the vehicle wiring diagram.
  • Modifications are done at your own risk; functionality is not guaranteed.
  • Modifications may cause damage to the vehicle, radio, or interface.
  • Wiring changes may void the product warranty.
