Preserve the original steering wheel radio controls when replacing the factory radio with an aftermarket head unit. Depending on the vehicle equipment, the range of functions and the software of the newly installed head unit, some functions may be limited or replaced by others. Compare the displayed wiring connectors with the connectors in your vehicle and make sure they match both technically and visually. Check whether one of the listed OEM radios was originally installed. Before final installation, verify vehicle functionality, system settings and correct operation of the steering wheel control (SWC).

CAN Bus information

Connectors and interfaces:

Vehicle compatibility:

Important additional information

  • Compatible with aftermarket head units with an analog steering wheel control input (e.g. Sony, Kenwood, JVC, Pioneer, Alpine, Blaupunkt, Clarion, Zenec, etc.).
  • To fully activate the adapter, it is necessary to order the specific connection cable for the radio brand.

General installation instructions

Checks before installation:

  1. Check all steering wheel control functions and vehicle settings with the original OEM head unit.
  2. Disconnect the original radio (OEM HU) from power.
  3. Check all interface connections to ensure they are correctly connected, with power off.

Connections and wiring sequence:

  1. Set and check the hardware configuration of the interface with power off.
  2. Check the configuration of the connection cable to the HU with power off.
  3. Connect the cable to the HU according to the aftermarket device manual.
  4. Connect other wires according to the device manual.
  5. Connect the entire installation to the vehicle, connecting the main power last.
  6. Perform software configuration of the interface according to the product description or manual.
  7. Configure the aftermarket HU (steering wheel control, camera, handsfree, antenna power, etc.).
  8. Perform a functional test of the steering wheel control and communication with the vehicle.

Changing interface configuration and HU cable:

  • Make all changes with power off.
  • After changes, repeat steps 5 to 8 above.

If the interface or vehicle system malfunctions:

  • Reinstall the original OEM HU.
  • Start the original unit.
  • Trigger CAN Bus system shutdown.
  • Check the hardware configuration of the interface.
  • After CAN Bus shutdown, repeat steps 5 and 6 above.

If wiring or harness modifications are made:

  • Wiring and modifications must only be performed by professionally trained personnel.
  • All changes must be verified for manufacturer approval or impact on the vehicle warranty before connection.
  • All modifications must be verified by measurement and compared with the vehicle wiring diagram before connection.
  • Modifications are made at your own risk, without guarantee of functionality.
