Retain the original steering wheel radio control functions when replacing the factory radio with an aftermarket unit. Depending on vehicle equipment, available functions and the software of the newly installed head unit, some functions may be limited or replaced by others. Compare the shown wiring connectors with the connectors in your vehicle and make sure they match both technically and visually. Check whether one of the listed OEM head units was originally installed. Before final installation, verify vehicle functionality, system settings and correct operation of the steering wheel control (SWC).

CAN Bus information

Connectors and interface:

  • Connector: ISO / Mini ISO.
  • OEM steering wheel control connection: 3.5mm jack or loose wire.

Settings:

  • Set DIP switches according to the aftermarket head unit manufacturer (see BDA).

Vehicle compatibility:

  • Vehicles with an external display – the display must be reconnected to the vehicle.
  • Vehicles without the Arkamys DSP OEM amplifier system.
  • Vehicles without an OEM HU with an integrated display and without front USB.
  • Vehicles without Radiosat Classic OEM HU – contact support.
  • Date/time setting supported.

Important additional information

  • Compatible with aftermarket head units with an analog input for steering wheel control (e.g. Sony, Kenwood, JVC, Pioneer, Alpine, Blaupunkt, Clarion, Zenec, etc.).
  • To fully activate the adapter, you must order the specific connection cable for the radio brand.

General installation instructions

Verification before installation:

  1. Check all steering wheel control functions and vehicle settings with the original OEM head unit installed.
  2. Disconnect the original radio (OEM HU) with power off.
  3. Check all interface connections to ensure they are correctly connected, with power off.

Connection and wiring sequence:

  1. Set and verify the hardware configuration of the interface with power off.
  2. Verify the configuration of the connection cable to the HU with power off.
  3. Connect the cable to the HU according to the aftermarket device instructions.
  4. Connect the remaining wires according to the device instructions.
  5. Integrate the entire installation with the vehicle; connect the main power last.
  6. Perform the software configuration of the interface according to the product description or manual.
  7. Configure the aftermarket HU (steering wheel control, camera, handsfree, antenna power, etc.).
  8. Perform a functional test of the steering wheel control and vehicle communication.

Changing the interface configuration and HU cable:

  • Make all changes with power off.
  • After any change, repeat steps 5 to 8 listed above.

If the interface or vehicle system malfunctions:

  • Reinstall the original OEM HU.
  • Start the original unit.
  • Trigger CAN Bus shutdown.
  • Check the hardware configuration of the interface.
  • After CAN Bus shutdown, repeat steps 5 and 6 listed above.

When modifying wiring or harnesses:

  • Wiring and modifications must be performed only by professionally trained personnel.
  • All changes must be verified for manufacturer approval or impact on vehicle warranty before connection.
  • All modifications must be verified by measurement and compared with the vehicle wiring diagram before connection.
  • Modifications are carried out at your own risk, without guarantee of functionality.
  • Modifications are made at your own risk, without guarantee against damage to the vehicle, device or interface.
  • Pre-modified harnesses may result in loss of product warranty.
