Cleaning and Maintenance of Rubber Car Mats

Cleanliness and order in the car are not just a pleasant aesthetic matter, but also a safety one. Dust and coarse dirt that accumulate on the mat over time cause dust to swirl inside the vehicle, which settles there, and you are breathing it in all the time. (Foot movement while driving stirs up the dust.) What's worse, as the amount of coarse dirt increases, there is a risk of shoe slippage, especially if your shoes are wet. Therefore, we recommend cleaning rubber car mats at least once a month, but more frequently if you drive daily. Here's a simple procedure on how to do it.

First, thoroughly vacuum the mats. (Either in the car or outside.)
Alternatively, shake out the dirt from the mat outside in a designated and suitable place.
Vacuum the car floor - the carpet.
Place the mats outside on a clean surface or hang them on a wall or designated area.
It's desirable to keep the underside of the rubber mat clean.
Then spray a universal cleaner gradually on all mats and let it sit for 1 to 2 minutes.
If the mats are heavily soiled, use a brush.
Ideally, use a pressure washer to rinse off the dirt and let the mats air dry.
If a pressure washer is not available, use a microfiber cloth with long fibers to wipe off the cleaner.
Return the clean and dry rubber mats to the car.
