Cleaning and Maintenance of Rubber Mats
Cleanliness and order in the car are not only aesthetically pleasing but also safer for everything you transport. Dust and coarse dirt that settle in the mat over time can scratch transported items, so it is good to keep the mat clean and in order. We recommend cleaning the rubber mat at least once every two months, but more frequently if you often transport items. Here is a simple method to do so.- First, thoroughly vacuum the mat. (Either in the car or outside.)
- Optionally, shake off dirt outside in a suitable and designated place.
- Vacuum the luggage compartment.
- Place the mat outside on a clean surface or hang it on a wall or suitable place.
- It is desirable to keep the bottom side of the rubber mat clean.
- Then spray a universal cleaner and let it sit for 1 to 2 minutes.
- If the mat is heavily soiled, use a brush.
- Ideally, use a pressure washer to rinse off dirt and let it dry naturally.
- If a pressure washer is not available, use a microfiber cloth with long fibers to wipe off the cleaner gradually.
- Return the clean and dry rubber mat to the car.
