Cleaning and Maintenance of Rigum Rubber Car Mats
Keeping your car clean is not just an aesthetic matter but also a safety concern. Dust and coarse dirt accumulate on the mats over time, causing dust circulation inside the vehicle, which you breathe in. (Foot movement while driving circulates dust.) Even worse, the accumulation of dirt increases the risk of slipping, especially with wet shoes. Therefore, we recommend cleaning the rubber mats at least once a month, or more often if driving daily. Here's a simple cleaning method:- First, thoroughly vacuum the mats. (Either in the car or outside.)
- Shake out any dirt from the mats in a suitable, designated area.
- Vacuum the car floor where the mats sit.
- Place the mats outside on a clean surface or hang them on a wall or suitable place.
- Ensure the bottom side of the mat remains clean.
- Spray a universal cleaner gradually over all mats and let it work for 1 to 2 minutes.
- If heavily soiled, use a brush.
- Ideally, use a pressure washer to rinse off dirt and let the mats air dry.
- If pressure washing isn't an option, use a microfiber cloth to wipe the cleaner off.
- Once clean and dry, return the rubber mats to the car.
