Blaupunkt Frankfurt Stereo is a premium retro car radio that combines the authentic design of 1970s car radios with today’s modern technologies. The black front panel with a chrome frame, classic rotary controls and period-style buttons fit perfectly into the interiors of historic cars, oldtimers and youngtimers where a modern radio would look out of place. Beneath the classic appearance is a contemporary feature set including digital DAB+ radio, a quality FM/AM tuner, Bluetooth Twin Connect, handsfree calling, USB-A, USB-C, an AUX input and advanced digital audio processing. Dominating the front panel is a 3" color TFT display that can also show a classic frequency scale reminiscent of original analog radios.

Authentic 1970s radio appearance

Blaupunkt Frankfurt Stereo was designed to preserve the character of classic automotive interiors. The dimensions, rotary and push-button controls and their mechanical feedback recall original Blaupunkt radios from the 60s and 70s. The black panel is complemented by an elegant chrome frame and the overall design looks natural even in a carefully restored historic car. The radio can be installed in various ways, including classic axle mounting or installation into a standard 1DIN opening.

DAB+ and quality analog tuner

Frankfurt Stereo offers modern digital reception via DAB+ as well as classic FM and AM broadcasting. Blaupunkt’s High-End tuner is designed for high sensitivity and stable reception. DAB+ provides clear digital audio, an automatic list of available stations, display of accompanying DLS information and other features. Automatic station storage, station following and traffic broadcast priority are also included.

Bluetooth Twin Connect and handsfree

Built-in Bluetooth enables wireless music playback and convenient phone calls using the supplied external microphone. Twin Connect allows two mobile devices to be connected. Phonebook access and voice assistant support such as Siri, Google Assistant or Alexa are supported. It’s also practical to combine played music with voice navigation prompts from a phone.

USB-A, USB-C and AUX input

Modern music sources can be connected via USB-A, USB-C or a 3.5 mm AUX input. The USB player supports common lossless and compressed audio formats and allows easy browsing of folders and files. USB ports can also be used to charge a mobile phone. Apple iPod connection is also supported.

Advanced audio settings

Blaupunkt Frankfurt Stereo is more than a design retro radio. It also offers sophisticated audio features with digital signal processing and two 14-band equalizers. Sound presets, Loudness and other tuning options are available. The integrated amplifier delivers up to 4 × 50 W, or up to 4 × 75 W at 2 Ω. For more demanding audio systems there is a 4-channel RCA preamp output and a separate subwoofer output, making it easy to connect external amplifiers.

Short installation depth and multiple installation options

The radio’s construction is also adapted to older vehicles that often do not offer as much space behind the dashboard as modern cars. The short installation depth simplifies installation and the supplied accessories allow several mounting methods.
