Blaupunkt Frankfurt Stereo Classic
Blaupunkt Frankfurt Stereo Classic is a premium retro car radio inspired by original Blaupunkt models from the 1970s. It combines an authentic classic radio appearance with modern technology, making it an ideal choice for historic cars, oldtimers and youngtimers where you want to preserve the period interior look while enjoying contemporary features. Authentic retro design
Frankfurt Stereo Classic preserves the classic proportions of axial radios from the 1970s, including rotary controls, buttons and a prominent chromed front panel. Blaupunkt also focuses on materials and the mechanical feedback of controls – front elements are made of metal to evoke the feel of original radios from the 60s and 70s. The 3" digital display can show a retro frequency scale with a moving digital needle. This can activate automatically during operation or remain lit for a while after the radio is turned off, creating a very authentic effect for example during a historic car presentation.
DAB+ and Blaupunkt High-End tuner
Blaupunkt Frankfurt Stereo Classic is equipped with a combined DAB+ and FM High-End tuner. It supports FM, AM and DAB/DAB+ and offers features such as automatic station storage, DAB Service Following, Seamless Blending, Radiotext, DLS and traffic information. There are 15 FM, 10 AM and 15 DAB presets. The DAB tuner also supports an alphabetical station list and switching between multiplexes and services.
Bluetooth Twin Connect
Bluetooth 5 allows handsfree calling and wireless music streaming. Twin Connect enables simultaneous connection of two mobile phones while the radio remembers the last five paired devices. Supported profiles are A2DP, AVRCP, HFP and SPP and codecs aptX, AAC and SBC. The set includes access to a phonebook of up to 1,000 contacts, call control and support for voice assistants such as Siri, Google Assistant or Alexa.
USB-A, USB-C and AUX
On the rear there are USB-A and USB-C connectors and a 3.5 mm AUX input. USB supports FAT16, FAT32 and exFAT file systems, memory media up to 128 GB and up to 30,000 files or folders. Supported audio formats include MP2, MP3, WMA, FLAC, M4A/AAC and WAV. Blaupunkt also lists APE support in the feature list. Rear USB also supports control of Apple iPod and iPhone devices.
Advanced audio tuning options
The radio offers digital signal processing and a 2× 14-band graphic equalizer. There is also bass and treble control, Balance, Fader, Loudness and Rock, Pop and Classical presets. A major advantage is adjustable HPF and LPF filters separately for front and rear channels, enabling much more precise tuning than a typical retro radio. The integrated amplifier provides up to 4 × 50 W, or up to 4 × 75 W at 2 Ω. RMS power is 4 × 28 W at 14.4 V according to DIN 45324. For external amplifiers there is a 4-channel RCA pre-out with up to 4 V and a separate RCA subwoofer output with adjustable gain and frequency.
