It also has increased height for easier work on curved body contours. The hook-and-loop diameter has been reduced for the most accurate attachment to the backing plate.

How to care for polishing pads

• Caring for polishing pads is important for their longevity and future polishing performance.
• During use, the pad's temperature is critical to its lifespan, as it can heat up to high temperatures when polishing paint.
• If you polish the paint for extended periods and frequently overheat the pad, you will significantly shorten its service life.
• Therefore monitor the temperature and if the pad becomes overheated, allow it to cool down for a while.
• At high temperatures both the foam and the pad's adhesive suffer.
• The polishing pad should be cleaned frequently during the polishing process; otherwise it will clog and polishing will become ineffective.
• As soon as the pad becomes loaded with polish, you should address it.
• You can use a medium-soft brush (e.g. Poka Premium Brush for Details and Pad cleaning - Hard Blue) and set the polisher to low speed, running it off the surface in your hand, and brush out the old polish.
• Hold the brush in your hand and let the polisher spin the pad. Be careful not to fling the used polish onto the freshly polished paintwork.
• If you have an air compressor, you can likewise blow out the pad while the polisher is running.
• After a successful machine polishing session, the pad should be prepared so it can be used again.
• We recommend washing the polishing pad in a washing machine at 40 °C using a detergent intended for microfiber. We recommend using the high-quality detergent Gyeon Q²M TowelWash, which works excellently.
• Never wash pads together with towels or cleaning cloths!
• Do not put pads in a tumble dryer after washing; instead let them air-dry flat on a drying towel with the polishing side facing down.
• If you don't have access to a washing machine, you can wash the pads by hand using an APC cleaner (e.g. Gyeon Q²M APC), diluted at a ratio of 1:6.
• Polishing pads should be stored in a dry place away from direct sunlight, ideally in a closed, clean plastic box.
