Onkyo X-QD1200 Car Stereo
The Onkyo X-QD1200 is a versatile multimedia car stereo featuring a large 10.1" capacitive IPS touchscreen, an octa-core Cortex-A53 processor, built-in GPS navigation and extensive connectivity options. Compared to the base X-QD1100 model, it offers a more powerful hardware platform, modern Bluetooth 5.0, a 14-band DSP equalizer and stronger 4V RCA outputs for connecting external amplifiers. With a very shallow installation depth of only 42 mm, it’s also suitable for vehicles with limited space behind the dash. The unit includes Wi‑Fi, two USB ports, an external microphone, and supports AHD parking cameras, DVRs, front cameras and 360° camera systems. The Onkyo X-QD1200 also supports steering wheel controls and, thanks to the Android-based platform, allows installation of additional compatible apps.
Powerful octa-core processor
The Onkyo X-QD1200 uses an octa-core Cortex-A53 processor with clock speeds up to 2.0 GHz. The more powerful hardware platform ensures smoother system performance, faster app launches and more comfortable use of navigation and media. The Hot Start feature also enables quicker system restart after the vehicle is started. The OY11.0 operating system based on Android allows installation of compatible APK apps and customization of the head unit to the user’s needs.
Large 10.1" IPS display
The highlight of the Onkyo X-QD1200 is its large 10.1" capacitive touchscreen with a resolution of 1280 × 720 px. It uses a 2.5D G+G capacitive touch layer that provides pleasant and precise control similar to modern smartphones. The large display area is ideal for navigation, multimedia apps and parking camera images. The screen also supports Picture-in-Picture, allowing selected content to be shown alongside another app.
Built-in GPS navigation, Wi‑Fi and internet connectivity
The head unit includes a GPS receiver and an external GPS antenna supplied in the package. Thanks to Android, you can use compatible online and offline navigation apps according to your preferences. Built-in Wi‑Fi allows the stereo to connect to an available wireless network or to a mobile hotspot created by a smartphone. Once online, you can use online navigation, streaming services and other supported apps. Some variants of the X-QD1200 platform also support 4G LTE mobile connectivity.
Bluetooth 5.0 with external microphone
Modern Bluetooth 5.0 + EDR enables wireless connection between the head unit and a mobile phone. The stereo supports Bluetooth handsfree and wireless music playback via the A2DP profile. The package includes an external microphone with a 3.5 mm connector that can be placed in a suitable spot in the vehicle interior to achieve clearer voice transmission during calls. Bluetooth can also be used to share the internet connection of a supported phone.
14-band DSP equalizer and 4V RCA outputs
The Onkyo X-QD1200 offers extended sound tuning options via a built-in 14-band DSP equalizer. Individual frequency bands can be adjusted to match the vehicle’s acoustics and personal listening preferences. Bass boost and surround sound enhancement functions are also available. The built-in amplifier with an ST7851 chip provides a maximum output of 4 × 50 W. A significant advantage of the X-QD1200 model is the preamp RCA outputs with up to 4 V level, which are a better signal source for connecting external amplifiers. Higher output voltage allows for better signal-to-noise ratio and lower required gain at the input of the connected amplifier.
MirrorLink, USB and multimedia features
The Onkyo X-QD1200 supports Phone MirrorLink for compatible Android and iOS phones. This function lets you connect your phone to the multimedia unit and display supported content on the head unit’s large screen. Availability of specific features depends on the phone and its OS version. The package includes two separate USB cables that can be used for playing multimedia content, connecting compatible accessories or charging mobile devices. The stereo supports lossless audio formats and video playback up to 1080p. Supported audio formats include MP3, APE, AAC and FLAC, and supported video formats include H.264, MP4, AVI, MKV and FLV.
AHD parking, front and 360° camera system
The Onkyo X-QD1200 offers extensive camera system support. You can connect a rear AHD parking camera with up to 720p resolution and have the image automatically displayed on the head unit when reverse gear is engaged. A front camera up to 720p is also supported. The unit supports USB DVR devices with preview and recording capabilities and allows integration of a compatible 360° panoramic camera system. The X-QD1200 can therefore serve not only as a multimedia center but also as a central display unit for a more comprehensive vehicle camera setup.
