Musway MSB130 are silicone acoustic rings designed for installing 130 mm diameter speakers. When mounting speakers in a vehicle door, a small gap often forms between the speaker basket and the door trim, causing a so-called acoustic short. Part of the energy radiated by the cone is returned to its rear side, which reduces the acoustic pressure and degrades the resulting sound. The consequence can be weaker bass response, poorer dynamics, and the emergence of unwanted resonances. Musway MSB silicone acoustic rings solve this problem by creating an acoustic seal between the speaker and the surrounding structure. They simultaneously act as a directional element that helps guide sound from the speaker into the vehicle interior, and as a vibration-damping element. In car audio terminology, similar components are often also referred to as so-called baffles. Thanks to the very flexible silicone, the rings easily adapt to various installation conditions and can be trimmed if necessary.

The package also includes a waterproof acoustic foam that is glued behind the speaker to the inner metal of the door. This foam helps absorb reflected sound waves and limits the formation of standing waves inside the door, thereby further contributing to a cleaner and more accurate sound. The rings also protect the speakers from moisture, water and dirt commonly found in doors, helping to extend their lifespan.
