Proper drying removes water spots on the paint and prevents buildup of limescale and other minerals present in the water. Tips for drying your car
- After the final rinse of shampoo from the bodywork, rinse the car once more slowly from top to bottom, this time using only a very thin stream of water freely flowing from the hose without a pressure nozzle. This step can remove up to 80% of the remaining water from the paint and will significantly simplify subsequent drying.
- Use a microfiber drying towel to remove water from the car's surface.
- Finally dry hard-to-reach areas, folds and body contours.
- This procedure keeps the towel drier for longer and extends its maximum absorbent capacity.
Recommended car wash procedure
- Rinse your car of loose dirt with pressurized water or a steamer from the bottom up! The lower parts of the car are the dirtiest, so rinsing from the bottom up allows the water to act longest on the dirtiest areas and soften the dirt most effectively. Additionally, dirt from higher areas runs downward and helps carry loosened dirt away from sills, wheels and undercarriage parts.
- Wash the entire body with shampoo from top to bottom, i.e. from the cleanest areas to the dirtiest.
- When dipping the wash mitt into the bucket always rinse it thoroughly so it releases all dirt and you don't return it to the paint.
- Rinse the shampoo from the bodywork using pressurized water or a steamer from top to bottom. The running water will help remove the shampoo even from hard-to-reach places.
- Finally, rinse the car once more slowly from top to bottom, this time using only a very thin stream of water freely flowing from the hose without a pressure nozzle. This step can remove up to 80% of the remaining water from the paint and will significantly simplify subsequent drying!
- Dry the vehicle using a quality, extremely absorbent microfiber drying towel X2000 Meguiar's Water Magnet or a premium natural chamois X2100 Meguiar's Natural Chamois.
- If needed, you can boost the protective wax layer with one of the quick waxes Meguiar's.
