How to Care for Polishing Pads

• Caring for polishing pads is very important for their longevity and future polishing capabilities.
• During work, the temperature of the pad itself is very important for its lifespan, as it can heat up to high temperatures when polishing paint.
• If you polish paint for an extended period and frequently overheat the pad, you significantly reduce its lifespan.
• Therefore, monitor the temperature and allow the pad to cool down if it overheats.
• Both the foam and the adhesive of the pad suffer at high temperatures.
• The polishing pad needs to be cleaned frequently during the polishing process; otherwise, it will stop functioning and the paint polishing will not be effective.
• Once the polishing pad is clogged with polishing paste, it needs to be addressed.
• You can use a medium-soft brush and set the polisher to lower speeds, running it empty in your hand, and brush away the old paste. Just hold the brush in your hand and let the polisher spin the pad.
• Be careful not to throw the used paste onto the polished paint of the car during rotational cleaning.
• If you own an air compressor, you can use it to blow out the pad in the same way while the polisher is running.
• After a successful machine polishing process, the pad should also be put in a condition for ideal future use.
• We recommend washing the polishing pad in a washing machine at 40°C using a detergent suitable for microfiber.
• Do not wash the pads together with towels or cloths!
• Do not put the pads in a dryer after washing; let them air dry on a drying towel with the polishing side down.
• If you do not have a washing machine available, you can wash the pads by hand using an APC cleaner, diluted in a 1:6 ratio.
• Polishing pads should be stored in a dry place away from direct sunlight, ideally in a sealed clean plastic box.
