How to Care for Polishing Discs

• Caring for polishing discs is crucial for their longevity and future polishing capabilities.
• During use, the temperature of the disc itself is very important for its lifespan, as it can heat up to high temperatures during paint polishing.
• If you polish the paint for an extended period and frequently overheat the disc, you significantly shorten its lifespan.
• Therefore, monitor the temperature and if the disc is overheated, let it cool down for a while.
• At high temperatures, both the foam and the adhesive of the disc suffer.
• The polishing disc needs to be cleaned frequently during the polishing process; otherwise, it will stop functioning and the polishing won't be effective.
• Once the polishing disc is clogged with polishing paste, it needs to be addressed.
• You can use a medium-soft brush and set the polisher to lower speeds, holding the brush in your hand to brush away the old paste. Just hold the brush and let the polisher rotate the disc.
• Be careful not to throw the used paste onto the polished car paint during rotary cleaning.
• If you have an air compressor, you can use it to blow out the disc in the same way while the polisher is on.
• After the successful polishing process, the disc also needs to be prepared for future use.
• We recommend washing the polishing disc in a washing machine at 40°C using a detergent suitable for microfiber.
• We recommend using a high-quality laundry detergent.
• Never wash discs together with towels or cloths!
• After washing, do not put the discs in a dryer but let them air dry on a drying towel with the polishing side down.
• If you don't have a washing machine, you can hand wash the discs using an APC cleaner diluted at a 1:6 ratio.
• Polishing discs should be stored in a dry place away from direct sunlight, ideally in a closed clean plastic box.
