Hifonics ZXO Crossovers
The Zeus series, from which the Hifonics Zeus ZXO2 crossovers originate, has been synonymous with performance and great sound in the Hifonics brand offerings for many years. For the first time, individual components such as high-quality midbass and bass speakers with aluminum die-cast baskets are available in addition to component systems and coaxial speakers, allowing for the assembly of 3-way combinations.
The bass speaker in the component set (available separately as ZX6.2W) features an aluminum pressure basket and aluminum phase plug. The sandwich diaphragm is made of triple composite glass fabric, which is extremely light yet very strong. The frequency response is extremely linear and requires almost no correction using "tricks" in the crossover. A powerful 14-ounce magnetic drive ensures a large power reserve and drives an exceptionally large 30.5mm voice coil. This allows for a mechanical stroke of up to +/-11 mm.
The separately available 25mm textile neodymium tweeter ZX6.2T with a resonance chamber (resonance frequency 700 Hz) covers an exceptionally wide frequency range up to well above 24 kHz with a very linear course. The main advantage of the 2-way component set is that it is already prepared for 3-way operation - an optional 7.5cm midrange speaker ZXM3 can be very easily connected to the ZXO2 crossover, simply by switching the jumpers on the crossover to third band mode, connecting the midrange speaker through a bandpass filter, and it's done. This midrange speaker also excels with top features such as an aluminum pressure basket, aluminum diaphragm, large 25mm voice coil, specially ventilated centering piece, and powerful neodymium magnet.
