FiiO Air Link – compact solution for high-quality wireless transmission

FiiO Air Link is an external Bluetooth transmitter designed for users who want to get the most out of wireless transmission regardless of the limitations of the source device. Connection is via USB-C, with no installation and no complicated setup, and Air Link immediately takes over processing and distribution of the audio signal. Compared to common integrated modules it enables use of advanced Hi-Res codecs including LDAC or aptX Lossless, significantly raising the quality of wireless listening. The basis of the device is the flagship Bluetooth chip Qualcomm QCC5181 with a quad-core architecture and a pair of 240 MHz Qualcomm Kalimba DSP units. This performance is crucial for audio processing itself, as it allows stable operation of advanced codecs and precise signal encoding without losses caused by insufficient processing power. Air Link thus functions as an independent audio platform that is not dependent on the quality of the internal solution in a phone or computer. Support for Snapdragon Sound is standard, which on a compatible counterpart enables fully lossless wireless transmission.

Bluetooth 6.0 with stable transmission

Using modern Bluetooth 6.0 brings not only higher efficiency but primarily stability and resistance to interference. Air Link offers fast response, low latency and a reliable connection even in more challenging environments. In open space it achieves a range over 50 m, and in real use with obstacles approximately 30–35 m. Low latency around 50 ms enables smooth video watching or gaming without noticeable audio delay, which is often a limiting factor with standard Bluetooth solutions.

Hi-Res resolution with full codec support

Air Link supports a wide range of Bluetooth formats including LDAC, aptX Adaptive (up to 24 bit / 96 kHz), aptX Lossless, aptX HD, aptX Low Latency and basic SBC. This allows optimizing transmission according to the specific device or user preferences. Compared to standard Bluetooth transmission, it preserves detail, dynamics and spatial presentation significantly better. LE Audio support additionally brings higher transmission efficiency and better latency management. The result is wireless listening that approaches wired quality and is not the weak link in the chain.

FiiO Air Link is designed as a fully universal solution for everyday use. It works in plug & play mode across a wide range of devices and also offers advanced control options via the FiiO Control app or web interface. The user has codec selection, connection management, firmware updates and features like connecting two devices simultaneously. Its major benefit appears especially with devices that have limited Bluetooth codec support. A typical example is the iPhone, which does not natively support LDAC or aptX – here Air Link works as an external transmitter and enables full use of advanced codecs. A practical detail is the separate USB-C port that allows simultaneous charging of the connected device during use.
