The Sigma range from Gladen represents a new generation of subwoofers designed for modern high-performance car audio systems, where precision, power handling and maximum control of the bass band play a key role. The Sigma subwoofer range is further divided into two separate product lines. The SSW models focus on musicality, speed and a natural character of bass reproduction. A typical feature is a lightweight paper cone, prized for its natural sound with excellent response and control. The design uses a rigid steel basket and optimized long-excursion motor systems for high efficiency and reproduction accuracy. In contrast, the SSWX series pushes the range toward higher power, greater cone excursion and extreme durability. This is achieved by a rigid fiberglass cone, a massive pressure-cast aluminum basket, more robust motor systems and a construction optimized for higher acoustic pressure.
High-power compact subwoofer
The Gladen Sigma SSWX08 was designed without compromise for applications that require high acoustic pressure, extreme durability and maximum output while maintaining compact enclosure dimensions. Compared to the SSW series models, it offers a significantly more robust motor system, greater cone excursion and substantially higher mechanical stability, allowing it to produce an exceptionally energetic and physically impactful bass performance even at very high volume. The reproduction character is fast, hard and very precisely controlled, with emphasis on deep bass, strong punch and long-term stability under heavy load. The SSWX08 is an ideal choice for modern SQL systems and compact high-power installations where the goal is to get maximum performance from minimal space.
Fiberglass cone and robust motor system
At the heart of the subwoofer is a powerful motor system with a massive 65 mm long-excursion voice coil that ensures maximum control of the cone even at extreme excursions and high amplifier power. The design uses a rigid fiberglass cone, which offers high stiffness, minimal deformation and very good resistance under long-term load. The result is a clean, precise and forceful bass performance without loss of control or unwanted distortion. The massive pressure-cast aluminum basket ensures maximum structural strength and helps eliminate unwanted resonances even at high acoustic pressure. The aluminum voice coil former also effectively dissipates heat and contributes to the subwoofer's high long-term power handling.
Flexible installation options
The Gladen Sigma range includes a total of eight models designed for various applications from compact SQ systems to powerful SQL installations focused on maximum acoustic pressure. The Sigma SSWX065 model has been optimized for extremely compact enclosures with a minimum required volume starting at just 1.6 liters. This opens entirely new installation possibilities in modern vehicles with very limited space, where conventional high-power subwoofers cannot be used. The Dual 2 Ω configuration also offers very flexible wiring options and easy integration into a wide range of high-performance audio systems. The recommended enclosure volume starting from only 4.5 liters further allows installation in modern vehicles with very limited space without compromising on performance.

| Recommended enclosure volumeThe closed enclosure is characterized by a simple construction. Closed enclosures are usually smaller than bass-reflex enclosures, and a special damping fleece is used for their damping. A closed baffle has the advantage of preventing an acoustic short between the front and back radiation of the subwoofer diaphragm. The disadvantage is that the closed enclosure raises the natural resonance frequency of the used subwoofer and thereby also increases the lower limit frequency.
