Cleaning and maintenance of rubber car mats

Cleanliness and order in the car are not only pleasant aesthetically but also safer. Dust and coarse dirt that settle on the mat over time cause dust to circulate in the interior, which then settles and is breathed in continuously. (Foot movement while driving stirs up dust.) Even worse, an increasing amount of coarse dirt raises the risk of shoe slippage, especially if your footwear is wet. Therefore we recommend cleaning rubber car mats at least once a month, and more often if you drive daily. We will show you a simple procedure on how to do it.

First, thoroughly vacuum the mats. (Either inside the car or outside.)
Alternatively, shake out the dirt from the mat outside in a suitable place.
Vacuum the car floor itself after removing the mat.
Place the mats outside on a clean surface or hang them on a wall or a designated place.
It is desirable that the underside of the rubber mat remains clean.
Then spray a universal cleaner, e.g. Dodo Juice Total Wipe Out All Purpose Cleaner, evenly on all mats and let it act for 1 to 2 minutes.
If the mats are heavily soiled, use a brush, e.g. ADBL Ther Brush.
Ideally, rinse off the dirt with a pressure washer and let the mats dry naturally.
If a pressure washer is not available, use a microfiber cloth with long pile and gradually wipe off the cleaner.
Clean and dry rubber mats can then be returned to the car.
