Zapco HB 68 II – 8-channel DSP processor with Bluetooth and player
Zapco HB 68 II is a next-generation eight-channel digital signal processor from the Harmony Blue Note series, designed for users who demand absolute control over their vehicle audio system. It offers a 31-band equalizer for each channel, detailed matrix routing of inputs and outputs, precise delay, polarity, level and crossover settings. Compared to common DSPs it brings not only advanced functions but also exceptionally intuitive control – both via PC software and through a mobile app with a built-in music player. With the integrated Bluetooth 5.1 module it enables wireless music streaming and full tuning from a smartphone or tablet.
Harmony Blue Note Series
The Italian brand Harmony was established in the 1980s alongside the first development of home speakers by the hi-end manufacturer ESB. In the 1990s it focused on car audio and introduced a wide range of products that combined precise sound with more accessible pricing. Zapco now revives the same philosophy under the Harmony Blue Note line – a new series of DSP processors and amplifiers that blend excellent engineering, superior sound quality and easy operation. The name Blue Note refers to the era of jazz recordings between 1930 and 1950, which produced music of extraordinary depth and emotion. With this name Zapco pays tribute to music with soul and carries that philosophy into the modern car-audio world. The Harmony Blue Note series includes not only pure DSP units like the HB 68 II, but also DSPs with amplifiers and standalone high-power amplifiers. All models share Bluetooth streaming, intuitive control, broad connectivity and maximum user-friendliness.
PC control software
Zapco has developed new PC control software that provides a complete set of professional DSP tools. The user interface offers clearly organized sections for equalization, crossovers, routing and time correction. In the I/O Matrix section you can precisely define which inputs are used for each output and in what proportion. The filters allow exact configuration of high-quality crossovers with selectable type and slope for each channel. The 31-band graphic or parametric equalizer enables fine-tuning of the frequency response including adjustments to frequency, gain and Q factor. In the output channels section you can configure speaker assignment, delay, levels and polarity to achieve perfect phase alignment across the system. The program allows saving and loading presets, linking channels and locking configurations, providing a clear environment suitable for both professional installers and advanced users.
Mobile app and built-in player
Every model in the Harmony Blue Note line features an integrated Bluetooth module that enables full control via smartphone. The newly developed app offers all functions known from the PC version – from input and output settings through crossovers and equalization to delay and individual channel levels. The app is designed to bring intuitive control to a smaller display without limiting functionality. Users can tune the system, change presets or signal sources directly from their mobile device, which is ideal for final sound tuning in the car. The system also includes a music player that plays tracks directly from a USB device. All common and lossless formats are supported – MP2, MP3, MP4, WMA, APE, FLAC, AAC, M4A, WAV, AIF and AIFC. Control is possible both from the app and from an optional remote control that offers track switching, volume, presets and source selection. This element makes the HB 68 II not only a top DSP processor but also a full multimedia system hub.
