Koch Chemie Ceramic Glass Cg0.01 (50 ml)

Koch Chemie Ceramic Glass Cg0.01 is a professional ceramic glass coating with an exceptionally strong hydrophobic effect. It rapidly repels rainwater, significantly improves visibility in adverse weather conditions, and makes regular maintenance of automotive glass surfaces easier. This premium product from the German brand Koch Chemie was developed for long-lasting protection of windshields, side windows, and rear windows on passenger cars and commercial vehicles. Once cured, its specialized formula creates a durable, transparent protective layer with extremely low adhesion to water and everyday contaminants. Its powerful hydrophobic effect causes rainwater to quickly form small droplets that are carried away by airflow at speeds starting at approximately 50 km/h.

When driving in the rain, the coating helps keep glass cleaner and improves visibility, contributing to greater driving comfort and safety. Another major advantage of Koch Chemie Ceramic Glass Cg0.01 is its Easy-to-Clean technology, which reduces the adhesion of road grime, insect residue, and other deposits. This makes subsequent glass cleaning easier and generally requires less mechanical effort. The protective layer offers excellent transparency, preserving the natural appearance of the glass and an unobstructed view from the vehicle. With proper application and maintenance, the coating provides protection for approximately 25,000 kilometers, making it an attractive alternative to conventional rain-repellent glass treatments with significantly shorter durability. Ceramic Glass Cg0.01 features a fluorine-free and PFAS-free formula while maintaining excellent water-repellent properties and long-lasting performance.

Thorough glass preparation is essential for maximum coating adhesion, ideally using Koch Chemie Glass Pre Polish followed by degreasing. The coating is applied using a suitable applicator sponge, spread evenly in a crosshatch pattern, and buffed off with a high-quality microfiber cloth after the specified flash time. The coating develops initial weather resistance after approximately 18–24 hours and reaches full cure after approximately five days. The 50 ml bottle contains enough product to treat larger glass surfaces, with an estimated consumption of approximately 25 ml per windshield. Koch Chemie Ceramic Glass Cg0.01 is an ideal solution for professional detailing studios and discerning car enthusiasts seeking long-lasting ceramic glass protection, exceptional water repellency, and maximum visibility in all weather conditions.

How to use

  • Thoroughly clean the glass. First, thoroughly clean the glass surface using a suitable cleaning product. The manufacturer recommends Koch Chemie Green Star diluted at a ratio of 1:10, for example. Then rinse the surface thoroughly with clean water.
  • Decontaminate the glass surface. On used vehicles, remove mineral deposits, road grime, tar spots, and iron fallout as needed using appropriate decontamination products. For heavier contamination, a suitable detailing clay bar can also be used.
  • Deep clean and polish. Thoroughly prepare the glass using Koch Chemie Glass Pre Polish. For machine polishing, use a suitable microfiber polishing pad; for manual application, use an appropriate sponge. This step helps remove remaining deposits and ensures proper adhesion of the ceramic coating.
  • Degrease the glass. After removing any polishing residue, thoroughly degrease the glass using Koch Chemie Silicon & Wax Remover. Do not substitute Koch Chemie Panel Preparation Spray. After degreasing, ideally allow the surface to air out for at least 20 minutes.
  • Prepare the application conditions. Apply Ceramic Glass Cg0.01 only to completely clean, dry glass at a temperature between 15°C and 25°C. Work in a well-ventilated area protected from direct sunlight and adverse weather conditions.
  • Apply the ceramic coating. Apply a sufficient amount of product to a suitable applicator sponge and spread it evenly across the glass using a crosshatch pattern and the wet-on-wet method. Make sure to create a continuous, uniform film. Estimated consumption is approximately 25 ml per windshield.
  • Allow the coating to flash. Let the applied product flash for approximately 11–13 minutes. Follow the manufacturer's recommended conditions and check the condition of the coating film before buffing.
  • Final buffing. After the flash time, thoroughly buff the glass using a clean microfiber cloth designed for ceramic coatings. If any product residue dries, it can be reactivated with a small amount of fresh Ceramic Glass Cg0.01 and then immediately buffed off.
  • Allow the coating to cure. After application, protect the glass from water and other environmental exposure for at least 18–24 hours. The ceramic coating reaches full cure after approximately 5 days.
  • Subsequent maintenance. Regularly clean treated glass using gentle products designed for automotive glass. Koch Chemie Glas Star is suitable for routine maintenance. Avoid aggressive mechanical cleaning, which may shorten the lifespan of the protective coating.

Important warnings: Do not apply the product to hot surfaces or in direct sunlight. The ceramic coating is not designed for layering. Do not apply it directly to sensors, cameras, or other sensitive electronic components, as this may interfere with their functionality. Work in a well-ventilated area and wear suitable protective gloves and eye protection. The product is flammable, causes skin irritation, and may cause serious eye damage. Before use, read the safety instructions on the packaging and in the safety data sheet.
