New Standard of Sound Quality with PURIFI EIGENTAKT Technology

The BRAX RX2 PRO uniquely combines compact dimensions and efficiency with technical and sound parameters that elevate all amplifier manufacturing standards to a completely new level. In collaboration with Danish manufacturer PURIFI, a unique, uncompromising solution worthy of the BRAX brand was realized based on the patented EIGENTAKT technology, dispelling all prejudices against digital amplification. All measured values, such as distortion (THD+N), intermodulation (IMD), or signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), are so exceptional that only the most expensive measuring systems can accurately capture them. The basis of this unique performance is the principle of multi-level feedback, where several extremely wideband and fast control loops in the amplifier stages compensate for all nonlinearities. Even the output relays have their own control loop, eliminating their minimal contact transition resistance. The crucial factor is that the necessary LC output filter in Class D amplifiers is included in the control loops, completely compensating for its influence on distortion and output impedance. The RX2 PRO thus achieves a phenomenal damping factor of 10,000, not only at the usual measuring frequency of 1 kHz but across the entire audio range. The load-dependent frequency response typical for Class D amplifiers is also a thing of the past thanks to this topology. It doesn't matter what speaker the RX2 PRO drives - its amplitude response remains perfectly linear up to 60 kHz.

State-of-the-Art Power Supply

Another key to the RX2 PRO's unrivaled sound quality is its exceptionally sophisticated power supply. A regulated power source is standard, providing the output stages with battery-independent and constant voltage. The RX2 PRO offers not only full compatibility with the Start-Stop function but also allows operation in electric vehicle networks, where voltage can reach up to 18 V. The power supply is also equipped with a total of 67 electrolytic capacitors with enormous capacity, capable of delivering massive current pulses when needed. To ensure the circuit board does not restrict current flow, eight layers of copper take care of the lowest possible internal resistance. But that's not all; the large number of layers also brings other advantages - along with a thoughtful layout, it prevents high currents from affecting sensitive input or feedback signals.

Flexible Input Options and Top-Notch Signal Processing

At the input, the RX2 PRO offers two options - an analog input module or a module with a digital SPDIF interface. Both versions use sophisticated technologies that eliminate any negative impact on sound quality from the start. The analog module debuts a new "Super-Balanced" concept, where two extremely low-noise and low-distortion BurrBrown OPA1612 operational amplifiers form a differential input stage. They not only amplify but ensure high immunity to interference typical of the automotive environment thanks to exceptional common-mode rejection. The digital module with optical and coaxial SPDIF input offers a top-of-the-line ESS D/A converter with parameters unparalleled in car audio: a signal-to-noise ratio of 130 dB and distortion of -117 dB (0.00014%) guarantee absolute sound neutrality. Among other things, these values are owed to the power supply – a special dual-channel ESS regulator supplies each channel individually with extremely stable and low-noise voltage. In line with BRAX's philosophy, the digital module naturally supports the proprietary DiSAC 2.0 BRAX DSP protocol for unique volume control at the end of the signal chain.

Despite all its technical uniqueness, the RX2 PRO is presented in an elegant and compact form. Despite an output power of up to 2 x 300 W at 4 Ω (2 x 510 W at 2 Ω or 1 x 930 W bridged), it is exactly the same size as the BRAX DSP and 40% smaller than the GX2000, or 66% smaller than the MX4 PRO.
