Blaupunkt DAB-A-GPS-A Shark
Blaupunkt DAB-A-GPS-A “Shark” is an active combined roof antenna that delivers AM/FM radio reception, DAB/DAB+ digital radio, and GPS signal reception in a single compact housing. It is suitable for modern multimedia units, navigation systems, and vehicle conversions where an elegant solution without multiple separate antennas is desired. Thanks to its active low-noise design, it is engineered for high-quality reception of both analogue and digital radio signals. Another advantage is the shallow mounting depth of only 16.5 mm.
Three functions in one antenna
Blaupunkt DAB-A-GPS-A “Shark” combines:
- AM/FM reception.
- DAB/DAB+ reception in Band III.
- GPS antenna for navigation systems.
This eliminates the need to install multiple separate antennas and results in a cleaner-looking installation.
Active, low-noise reception
The antenna uses active amplification for AM/FM and DAB/DAB+ reception. The manufacturer describes it as active and low-noise, which helps improve reception quality especially in areas with weaker signals. The DAB section operates in Band III.
Integrated active GPS antenna
The antenna also includes an active GPS section with phantom power. It is therefore suitable for car radios and multimedia systems equipped with navigation or a GPS receiver.
Flexible power options
12 V power can be supplied either phantom-style via the internal conductor of the antenna cable or through a separate DIN connector, depending on the installation. This makes the antenna easy to use in various types of installations.
Shallow mounting depth
With a mounting depth of just 16.5 mm, the antenna does not require much space under the roof. This is beneficial for vehicles with limited space between the roof and headliner.
Compatibility with selected Mercedes‑Benz and VW/Audi openings
The manufacturer states that installation is also possible in newer openings used by Mercedes‑Benz and Volkswagen/Audi. For some applications, a corresponding sealing adapter is available.
