Blaupunkt BPA 1120 BT
The Blaupunkt BPA 1120 is a simple and affordable 1DIN car radio with a modern basic feature set for everyday use. It offers an FM RDS tuner, Bluetooth 5.0, USB-A, front AUX input, handsfree calling via an integrated microphone and a 2-channel RCA output. With a very short installation depth (only 90 mm), it is also suitable for vehicles with limited space behind the dashboard.
The radio focuses on simple operation and basic functions without a CD player, DAB+ tuner or complex multimedia features. It is therefore ideal wherever you want a reliable radio with Bluetooth and USB music playback at a reasonable price.
FM RDS tuner with 18 presets
The Blaupunkt BPA 1120 is equipped with an FM tuner covering 87.5 to 108 MHz with RDS support. There are 18 presets divided into three memory levels FM1, FM2 and FM3. The radio supports Alternative Frequencies (AF), Traffic Announcements (TA), automatic time setting, program-type search (PTY) and the Travelstore function for automatically storing up to 18 stations. Tuner sensitivity can be switched between Local and DX modes.
Bluetooth 5.0 for calls and music
Built-in Bluetooth 5.0 LE enables handsfree phone calls and wireless music streaming. The radio has an integrated microphone, so no external microphone is required for basic handsfree. Supported profiles include A2DP, AVRCP, HFP and SPP, and audio codecs AAC and SBC. The radio remembers the last 5 paired devices, with one phone able to be connected at a time.
USB player with FLAC and APE support
On the front panel is a USB-A connector for playing music in MP2, MP3, WMA, FLAC, WAV and APE formats. Supported file systems are FAT16, FAT32 and exFAT, and USB media with capacity under 128 GB. The player can handle up to 20,000 files or folders and supports ID3 tags, random playback, repeat of tracks or folders and fast forwarding.
Front AUX input
Next to the USB connector on the front panel is an AUX input for connecting other audio sources via an analog audio cable. Switching to the AUX source is done manually.
Simple sound settings and Loudness
The Blaupunkt BPA 1120 offers bass and treble adjustment in seven levels, Balance and Fader and also a Loudness function to emphasize low and high frequencies at lower volumes. Sound presets Rock, Pop and Classical are also available. The radio does not feature a multi-band parametric equalizer, HPF/LPF filters or a DSP processor.
2-channel RCA output
For connecting an external amplifier there is a 2-channel RCA preamp output with an output level of less than 2 V. The radio does not have a dedicated subwoofer output. The integrated amplifier provides a maximum power of 4 × 20 W. The manufacturer further quotes 4 × 6 W at 4 Ω or 4 × 10 W at 2 Ω at 14.4 V and 10% THD.
Short installation depth of only 90 mm
One practical advantage of the BPA 1120 is its exceptionally short body. The unit itself measures only 50 × 178 × 90 mm, making installation significantly easier even in vehicles with little space behind the radio for cabling and connectors.
