Nakamichi NDSE600A is an advanced 10-channel digital sound processor with an integrated 8-channel class AB amplifier, designed for building larger active audio systems. The configuration of eight input and ten output channels allows implementation of, for example, a fully active three-way front system, rear speakers and a separately amplified subwoofer. Compared to common DSP amplifiers operating in class D, the NDSE600A uses an analog class AB concept that focuses on a more natural sound character, richer vocal reproduction and a high level of detail. The built-in eight-channel amplifier provides a nominal power of 4 × 25 W + 4 × 100 W. The differing power of the individual channel groups enables efficient powering of speakers with different requirements – the less powerful channels can be used, for example, for tweeters or midrange speakers, while the more powerful quartet is suitable for mid-woofers or other more demanding components. Thanks to this, even a more complex active system can be built with a minimal number of external amplifiers.
The digital section uses the AKM7735 sound processor and offers a dynamic range of up to 117 dB. A 31-band equalizer and extensive system tuning options are available for each of the ten output channels. Six separate sound presets can be stored in memory and switched between according to the type of music or vehicle occupancy. Configuration is done via computer software or a mobile app. The NDSE600A offers eight high-level inputs for easy connection to the factory head unit and ten low-level outputs for connecting additional external amplifiers. It also supports wireless music playback via Bluetooth, lossless playback from USB storage and connection of an optional external controller with an LCD display. The Nakamichi NDSE600A thus represents an interesting solution for advanced installations that require a large number of channels, high power, flexible configuration and the sonic character of class AB amplifiers.
