Match UP 8DSP BMW Amplifier
The new UP 8DSP is a truly versatile device that delivers not only untamed power and dynamics for genuine hi-fi sound, but also comes with all the prerequisites for easy vehicle integration.
Seamless connectivity
With its six high-level inputs, optical digital input, MATCH Extension Card slot and many intelligent technologies such as the proprietary ADEP.3 circuit, the UP 8DSP is perfectly equipped for seamless adaptation to existing multi-channel audio systems. In addition, with a total of eight amplifier channels and an additional line output — combined with a powerful 9-channel DSP — individual speaker configurations can also be realized. Two amplifier output channels provide 160 W RMS into 2 Ω — sufficient to drive large subwoofers.Virtual Channel Processing – how signal routing works today
Optimal adaptation to existing multi-channel audio systems requires sensible management and configuration of many DSP channels — so it was a given that the UP 8DSP is also equipped with Audiotec Fischer’s innovative Virtual Channel Processing. Especially when front, rear and center systems are split into multi-dimensional setups, conventional routing concepts quickly reach their limits in terms of implementation and usability. Multi-stage Virtual Channel Processing combined with the renowned, user-friendly DSP PC-Tool software simplifies mapping even highly complex system configurations and the free assignment of our proprietary FX sound functions. In addition, thanks to its generous channel count and the optional MEC ANALOG IN module, the UP 8DSP is an exemplary solution for applications where 1:1 routing (IOR) makes sense.ACO - Advanced 32-Bit CoProcessor Platform
The UP 8DSP contains an exceptionally powerful next-generation 32-bit coprocessor. It not only takes over all control tasks with ultra-fast response, but also switches between up to ten possible sound presets in the blink of an eye. But ACO offers much more — besides channel-separated Input EQ including an Input Signal Analyzer (ISA) for easy analysis and compensation of OEM radio input signals and fantastic sound effects such as Augmented Bass Processing or RealCenter, there is now the revolutionary TuneEQ feature for automatic adjustment of output equalizers.Another major advantage is the integrated native CoProcessor bootloader. It enables software upgrades of all DSP components to adapt the ADEP.3 microcontroller-driven circuit, for example in case of future modifications/changes in the diagnostic system of factory radios or if the device is expanded with additional interfaces.
Compact dimensions
Despite its wide feature set and substantial output power of 6 x 65 watts at 4 Ω plus 2 x 90 / 160 watts at 4 / 2 Ω, the UP 8DSP — as is typical for MATCH amplifiers — comes in a very compact design, so it can be installed without problems even in tight spaces.DSP PC-Tool 5 feat. TuneEQ - Powerful features for a perfect sound experience
Of course the MATCH UP 8DSP can be easily configured using our new, professional and exceptionally intuitive DSP PC-Tool 5. The well-known numerous adjustment options fulfill every wish and ensure extremely precise sound tuning even for complex system configurations. And thanks to the new proprietary TuneEQ function for automatic frequency response correction, you’ll also save a lot of time when optimizing sound.GD-class technology
Audiotec Fischer’s proprietary GD-class concept pushes the efficiency of conventional Class D amplifiers to the next level. By changing the internal supply voltage in several steps depending on the amplifier’s input signals, idle losses are significantly reduced and overall efficiency is almost always near its maximum. Thus heat dissipation is almost negligible, allowing the smallest heatsinks and the most compact forms.Intelligent high-level input ADEP.3
Modern factory-installed car radios include sophisticated diagnostics for connected speakers. Especially the latest generation of head units are equipped with additional monitoring functions, so error messages and loss of specific functions (e.g. fader function) can often occur when a conventional amplifier is connected — but not with the UP 8DSP. The new ADEP.3 (Advanced Diagnostics Error Protection, 3rd Generation) circuit avoids all these problems without unnecessarily loading the OEM radio speaker outputs at high volume.Start-Stop capability
The switched-mode power supply of the MATCH UP 8DSP ensures a constant internal supply voltage even if the battery voltage drops to 6 V during engine start. If the supply voltage falls below 10.5 V for more than five seconds, the amplifier switches to “Protect Mode” (status LED lights red) to prevent further battery discharge.Automatic detection of digital signal
The UP 8DSP allows signal-controlled switching between analog inputs and the digital input. As soon as an input signal is detected on the optical input, the amplifier automatically switches to that input. This function can be deactivated in the DSP PC-Tool software. Alternatively, you can use an optional remote control for manual switching between analog and digital inputs.Power save mode
Power save mode is part of the factory settings. It allows a significant reduction in the power consumption of the UP 8DSP and potentially connected amplifiers once no input signal is present for more than 60 seconds. Please note that in many modern cars with CAN or any other internal bus structure, the radio can remain “visibly” on for up to 45 minutes even after locking and leaving the vehicle. Once Power Save Mode is active, the remote output and thus connected amplifiers are switched off. The MATCH UP 8DSP will reactivate the remote output within a second if an audio signal is applied. Using the DSP PC-Tool software you can adjust the shut-off delay to 60 seconds or disable the power save mode entirely.TuneEQ
TuneEQ is an extremely flexible and particularly easy-to-use function for automatic frequency response correction. A single measurement on an audio channel or channel pair with a suitable measurement microphone (e.g. our MTK1) is enough for TuneEQ to independently and accurately adjust the equalizers to the desired reference curve. TuneEQ uses the full set of parametric equalizer functions including center frequency, Q-factor and gain settings. And because very complex arithmetic operations are required for this background process, TuneEQ will also save you a lot of time during sound optimization.RealCenter
The RealCenter function is an algorithm developed by Audiotec Fischer that emphasizes musical information present in both the left and right front channels and thus creates a unique center signal. Unlike common methods that simply sum channels, the intensity of the center signal is also dynamically controlled by the stereo informational content of the left and right channels. It sounds complex, but the result is impressive: if only the left or right channel provides audio, the center channel will not reproduce that signal. With conventional algorithms the center channel volume is reduced by only 6 dB (half the level). Audiotec Fischer RealCenter enables a unique, expanded soundstage for both driver and passenger simultaneously. Disadvantages of conventional center channels, such as a narrow, disruptive soundstage, are therefore a thing of the past.Augmented Bass Processing
Audiotec Fischer’s proprietary Augmented Bass Processing technology, consisting of two revolutionary sound functions — Dynamic Bass Enhancement and SubXpander — was specifically developed to significantly improve subwoofer bass reproduction. Dynamic Bass Enhancement cleverly combines maximum deep bass and highest acoustic pressure regardless of music style or tone controls on the head unit. Depending on the input signal, Dynamic Bass Enhancement extends the low-frequency range and changes the cutoff frequency of the subsonic filter. The result is noticeably stronger and deeper bass response at low and medium volume levels without the risk of mechanical or electrical overload of the subwoofer at high volume levels. It’s fascinating how much bass performance becomes possible. If you want even lower and “darker” bass reproduction, SubXpander can be additionally activated. This adds subharmonic tones to the fundamental tones in the frequency range between 50 and 100 Hz.Main features
