3M Vinyl Tape 471+ delivers performance and productivity, creating fine masking lines in many critical painting and coating applications. Sharp and clean paint lines for color separation are possible because the tape resists lifting, and its versatile rubber adhesive adheres to a wide range of surfaces, including resins. It can then be cleanly removed from flat or more complex areas. 3M Vinyl Tape 471+ features a versatile rubber adhesive and a slightly translucent backing that allows for precise masking alignment and matching with simple or complex patterns. This tape ensures clean removal without adhesive residue, even after a 30-minute bake cycle at 250 °F (121 °C). The tape is designed to conform well to curves, stretch, and remain securely attached, even with a radius of approximately 1.5". It follows irregular patterns and creates sharp lines. Its slight translucency allows for additional alignment and adjustment on patterns with complex curves. This flexible vinyl backing is also abrasion-resistant and will protect adjacent surfaces during most sandblasting operations. Once finished, it can be removed in one piece, while preserving the sharp paint lines it helped create.
