Blaupunkt Frankfurt Stereo MB is a modern reinterpretation of the classic 1970s car radio, combining an authentic retro look with current technology. It features typical rotary and push-button controls, a striped front panel with a chrome frame and a 3" color TFT display that can emulate a classic analog radio scale.
Retro look, modern functions
Frankfurt Stereo MB is mainly intended for classic cars and youngtimers where the radio should visually blend into the original interior. The display can show a digital "needle" during tuning similar to old analog radios, and the analog scale can remain active for some time after the radio is switched off. The front elements are made of metal and the manufacturer emphasizes an authentic control feel.
DAB+, FM and AM
The radio uses Blaupunkt DAB+ and an FM High-End tuner. It supports FM, AM and DAB/DAB+ in bands 5A–13F. It offers 15 FM, 10 AM and 15 DAB presets, DAB Service Following, DAB–FM Service Following, Radiotext, DLS and automatic station storage.
Bluetooth Twin Connect
Bluetooth 5 enables handsfree calling and music streaming. The radio remembers the last 5 paired devices and can have 2 devices connected simultaneously as a true Twin Connect. It supports A2DP, AVRCP, HFP and SPP and codecs aptX, AAC and SBC. Phone calls are handled via the supplied external microphone.
USB-A, USB-C and AUX
On the rear there are USB-A and USB-C ports. Supported formats include MP2, MP3, WMA, FLAC, M4A/AAC and WAV, and Blaupunkt’s feature list also mentions APE. USB supports FAT16, FAT32 and exFAT and media up to 128 GB. Control of compatible Apple iPod/iPhone via USB is also supported. The rear AUX input uses a 3.5 mm stereo jack.
2× 14-band equalizer and DSP
Frankfurt Stereo MB offers true audio processing with 2× 14-band graphic equalizers, separate bass and treble adjustment per source, Balance/Fader, Loudness and sound presets Rock, Pop and Classic. Variable HPF and LPF for front and rear channels are also available.
Power and RCA outputs
The built-in amplifier provides up to 4 × 50 W, or 4 × 75 W at 2 Ω. RMS power is 4 × 28 W at 14.4 V. For external amplifiers there are 4-channel RCA pre-outs < 4 V and a separate Sub-Out with adjustable level and frequency.
