The Blaupunkt Frankfurt RCM 82 DAB is a modern reissue of the legendary Frankfurt RCM 82 car radio from 1992. It preserves the characteristic 90s look but offers contemporary technology inside – DAB/DAB+, Bluetooth 5.0, 2× USB, microSD, AUX, iPod/iPhone support, two 14-band parametric equalizers and variable backlight with 4096 colors. Its short installation depth makes it particularly suitable for youngtimers and classic cars, such as BMW E30/E34/E36, Mercedes-Benz W124/R129/W140, Porsche 911/944/928 or VW Golf III.
DAB+ and High-End CODEM IV tuner
The Frankfurt RCM 82 DAB uses a High-End CODEM IV tuner supporting FM, AM, DAB and DAB+. It offers Radiotext/DLS, Travelstore, Service Following between DAB and FM and other functions for stable radio reception.
Bluetooth Twin Connect
Bluetooth 5.0 LE enables hands-free calling and wireless music streaming. The radio remembers the last 5 paired devices and with Twin Connect up to 2 phones can be connected simultaneously. It supports aptX, AAC and SBC codecs. An internal microphone and an external microphone input are available, along with access to a phonebook for up to 1000 numbers and support for voice assistants Siri, Google Assistant or Alexa.
2× USB, microSD and AUX
The radio offers front and rear USB-A, a front 3.5 mm AUX input and a microSD / microSDHC / microSDXC reader. A small USB stick or microSD card can be used with the cover closed, preserving the original retro look of the front panel. Supported formats are MP2, MP3, WMA, FLAC, M4A/AAC, APE and WAV. The radio also supports controlling compatible Apple iPod/iPhone devices via front and rear USB.
2× 14-band parametric equalizer
The Frankfurt RCM 82 DAB offers a true 2× 14-band parametric equalizer, separate bass and treble settings per source, Balance/Fader, Loudness and Rock, Pop and Classic presets. It also features variable HPF and LPF separately for front and rear channels. The built-in amplifier provides 4 × 50 W max. / 4 × 24 W RMS at 14.4 V. For external amplifiers there are 4 RCA channels with levels under 4 V and a separate stereo Sub-Out with adjustable gain and frequency.
Variocolor backlight with 4096 colors
A major advantage is the Variocolor backlight for the display and buttons with 4096 colors, allowing the radio to be color-matched to the illumination of a specific youngtimer or classic car.
