Meguiar’s Quik Scratch Eraser Kit is an easy‑to‑use set designed to remove minor paint defects such as light scratches, door scuffs or nail marks without the need for professional polishing. The kit includes a patented 4″ backing pad that attaches to a standard cordless drill, the professional ScratchX compound with micro‑abrasives for gentle paint correction, and a highly absorbent microfiber cloth for final polishing. The result is a smooth, clean and glossy paint surface ready for further maintenance and protection.

How to use
- Shake well!
- Work in the shade on a clean panel that is cool to the touch.
- Only use on glossy paints, including metallics (do not use on matte finishes!).
- Attach the polishing pad to the drill (follow the drill manufacturer’s instructions) and ensure it is securely fastened.
- Always hold the drill firmly with both hands, keep the backing pad flat on the paint surface and in motion while working.
- Leaving the spinning backing pad in one spot for too long can damage the paint!
- Apply Meguiar's ScratchX 2.0 polish to the backing pad in an X pattern.
- Place the backing pad flat on the paint surface and work at medium speed.
- Polish the paint in a grid pattern with 4–6 passes.
- Repeat as needed until the defect is removed.
- Remove excess polish from the pad by pressing the backing pad several times into a clean, damp microfiber cloth.
- Then polish the treated area once more with 4–6 passes in a grid pattern.
- Wipe residual polish from the paint with a clean, dry microfiber cloth.
- After polishing we recommend protecting the paint with a wax, sealant or ceramic coating.
- If the defect is so deep that you can feel a groove/unevenness with your fingernail, repair will require professional work and is very likely not removable with this kit!
