Anti-vibration material SGM Classic 1
The anti-vibration material from SGM’s entry-level Classic range consists of self-adhesive polymeric butyl rubber and an aluminum foil with a square embossing. Classic 1 offers a very good price-performance ratio – with an acoustic loss factor of 0.17 and a thickness of 1.6 mm it provides a basic level of soundproofing and vibration elimination. The material is also resistant to water, humidity and oils and exhibits anti-corrosion properties. The highly adhesive butyl layer ensures a strong bond with the surface and is fitted with a silicone-coated protective film on the mounting side.

| Acoustic Loss Factor (MLF)The acoustic loss factor (in English, mechanical loss factor) expresses the ability of the material to absorb propagating sound and change the energy of vibrations created by the sound into thermal energy. The theoretical maximum loss factor is 1, which means no vibration. For example, non-sound-proof steel with a thickness of 1 mm has a loss factor of approx. 0.001 at 200 Hz.
